TO DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE 1 or 2-Hole Fuel filter, the easiest method is to look at the fuel filter housing located right ahead of the washer fill. If the part number on the housing ends in 400F you have the Early 2-hole filter. If the part number ends in 400K you have the Late 1-hole filter. Pictured above

    Comments:
Great price and service from Kerma. Having said that.. found dreaded metal particles in the filter housing, for now VW is not willing to replace the HPFP at this point, I guess they are OK with me taking the gamble on a sudden and catastrophic HPFP failure.. then they might replace.. but I'm not too happy about this. Read up on the HPFP issues.. I have, and as a mechanical engineer I'm convinced it is a poor design, made worse by US diesel fuel quality, but still a bad design. VW appears to be in denial mode, or has made the business decision that most HPFP will last long enough to leave the customer with the later MASSIVE bill.. when this pump fails it wipes out from tank to injector with metal particle contamination.

    Filter works fine, nice fit
