New Kerma 17/26 Upgraded Turbocharger for ALH and BEW. Our newKERMA designed turbo has a smoother power band than the 17/22 with an extended tip billet compressor wheel that makes it flow morelike a 55mm compressor. The new 52mmaerodynamically engineered billetwheel helps dramaticlly increase compressor burst resistance and allows higher shaft speeds than the 17/22.
What does this mean? Higher flow than the 17/22 more comparable to a 55mm wheel, Turbo surgeissueis greatly reduced and in most instancesthe surge issue isnotthere(with our tuning),the 17/26 also creates more boost at lower engine speeds.
We wanted to develop a turbo that works well at altitude (4000ft and above)and does not create that annoying surge noise that the 17/22 is known for. We also wantedthe 17/26 tohave more flow than the 17/22 and create more boost in the lowerenginespeeds.We have successfully created it and are now happy to release it to the public.
Lead time for the 17/26 is 2-4 weeks after ordering.
As with the 1749VB, a 3-bar map sensor will enable full use of the turbo?s available range with the proper ecu tuning, for long service life.

On an otherwise stock car; fitment requires either stretching the compressor outlet hose over the compressor outlet, or replacing the compressor outlet hose with the equivalent BEW (PD100) compressor outlet hose and trimming it to fit. On the turbo inlet side, a BEW turbo inlet pipe boot is necessary to connect the turbo inlet pipe to the turbo inlet.
For the ALH engine our OMI and SMIC lower plumbing will ease these fitment issues and provide more airflow.
