I think this is the nicest 2.5" downpipe on the market.

Great fit and finish. Ball and Socket fitting  Can adapt to factory cat and cat back...but we recommend our 2.5" Stainless Cat Back exhaust and our 2.5" Magnaflow Hi Flow Cat

-36" 304 Stainless Straight pipe [ a $70 value ] makes installation of a straight pipe, resonator, or High Flow Cat super easy-Grade 304 stainless steel

-Innovative flange design to improve flow and allow perfect fitment

-Precision ball and socket BMW style adjustable flange for easy adjustment up/ down , left /right

 

- 304 stainless 2.5" to 2.25" reducer so this downpipe can install to the factory Cat or Cat Back piping. [ this is a great option and allows future upgrades to our 2.5" Cat back system , resonator, or performance muffler later in a simple and easy DIY friendly step by step upgrade process ]

 

- Includes O2 sensor bung for BEW engines ...so one pipe can fit either ALH or BEW engines

 

This downpipe fits all MK4 chassis VW TDIs with engine codes ALH or BEW. ('98-'06 New Beetle, '99.5-'05.5 Jetta, and '99.5-'06 Golf) If your car is a 2004 or newer year model, includes the oxygen sensor bung

 

 

Includes the 36" extension composed of 2.5" 304 stainless to facilitate catless, track-only use. These extension tubes ship with the BMW style flange already installed and the additional 2.5" to 2.25" reducer part as a separate piece for optional use. Not CARB certified for use in California

 

The downpipe is the starting point for building a complete bolt-on custom exhaust for your TDI begins. Select the downpipe and add the other exhaust components (resonators, high flow catalytic converter, cat back pipes, and clamps) to your cart to assemble a complete system. Suggested configurations: (product list goes from turbo back, in order)

 

System 1 for track (off-road) use: kermaTDI 'J' downpipe,  extension pipe, Vibrant Performance 2.5" butt connector clamp, Cat-back pipes. This is a direct bolt up system requiring zero welding. Trimming the extension pipe and/or first section of the cat-back pipe will be necessary. This is the loudest suggested configuration; marginally louder than a muffler-less TDI.

 

System 2 for track (off-road) use: kermaTDI 'J' downpipe, Aero resonator, Vibrant butt exhaust clamp, Cat-back pipes.  Trim the first section of the cat-back pipe as needed. From there it's a direct bolt up. Use the AccuSeal clamp to join the cat-back pipe to the resonator. This system will offer comparable noise levels to a muffler-less TDI, with great sound at highway speeds.

 

System 2+ for track (off-road) use: kermaTDI 'J' downpipe, 2Aero resonators, Accuseal single band exhaust clamp, Cat-back pipes.  Trim the first section of the cat-back pipe as desired. From there it's a direct bolt up. Use the AccuSeal clamp to join the cat-back pipe to the second resonator. This system will offer comparable noise levels to a muffler-less TDI, yet droanyness at highway speeds is eliminated, and offers a deep, aggressive, performance exhaust note.

 

System 3: kermaTDI 'J' downpipe, Magnaflow high flow catalytic converter, Accuseal single band exhaust clamp, Cat-back pipes.  Trim the 36" extension pipe as desired and use our stainless clamps for an easy install From there it's a direct bolt up. Use the AccuSeal clamp to join the cat-back pipe to the catalytic converter. This system will offer comparable noise levels to a muffler-less TDI.
