Detailed Description
Specifications
The .658 5th gear is an awesome upgrade to any TDI. Recommended for those who drive consistently over 75 MPH, the .658 will drop RPMs by approximately 600 over the stock 5th gear, depending on wheel and tire sizes. For those who drive around 70 and on hills the .681 is probably a better choice. KERMA tuning now restores Cruise control funtionality in Mk4 PD cars!!! If your car has over 100,000 miles it's recommended that you change your gear oil as well as your transmission seal with the 5th gear. A 5th gear mod will significantly drop the dB level in the car, making travel a much more pleasant experience for all involved. This works with all manual transmission VWs from 1996 to the present, as well as many older models. Set includes 02Z311158A large gear and 02Z311361A small gear. Pulling the gears is VERY easy! Don't sweat the puller instead you are supposed to heat the gear using an electric heat gun to 100C, the gear(s) slide right off! If you try to pull the gear without heating it you will crack it nearly every time. Same thing goes for reinstalling, heat it to 100C and it slide right onto the shaft. *NOTE: May or may not work on some VW MKIV PD cars (2004-2005 TDI) ** E-mail a friend about this item. |
