This upgrade turbo is a modified hybrid that is a direct bolt-in replacement for the Garrett GT-15 and Borg Warner (KKK) K-03 wastegated turbos found in the Passats and Jettas from 1996-1998. This is the biggest possible plug and play turbo for these vehicles. This is truly a KermaTDI exclusive product. Our additional exhaust turbine and housing work over the standard K03/K04 increases turbocharger efficiency, especially at higher rpm. This places less restriction on gasses exiting the engine, thereby increasing performance over the standard 03/04.

This turbo is built from brand new K03 and K04 components. There is no core deposit required.

If you have a rebuildable K03, (not a Garrett GT-15, which also came stock on these cars) you can opt to send it to us for modification at considerable savings (~$250) over the new parts normally used. Either way, this turbo, and all KermaTDI turbos, are warranted by the manufacturer against manufacturing defects for 12 months/12K miles.
