Also known as the "1856 hybrid", it’s back with improvements by one of the most respected turbo builders with 40 years in the business. This is the most capable version of our "easy install" hybrid turbos. (We call it an "18", but this turbo uses a larger exhaust exducer than a vnt-20 or vnt-22!)

By far, the greatest barrier to performance with the vnt-style turbos is the restrictive exhaust turbine and vnt control vane areas. We start with vnt-15 or vnt-17 turbo which is precisely machined to open up this hot-side "choke point". We then fit an exclusive, specially manufactured for us, "KERMA only" exhaust turbine, that flows better than any "drop-in" type turbo available anywhere! The result is amazingly low EGT and excellent efficiency. It's the most powerful drop-in replacement turbo on the market today for your TDI.

With its impressive 56mm compressor (very well suited for 1.9l tdi) and free-flowing exhaust turbine, it installs like a stock turbo, looks like a stock turbo, boost like a VNT-22 or VNT-23, and spools very quickly, for awesome low-end and mid-range response! No adapters or re-clocking, just bolt it in. It’s the easiest to install hybrid on the market. No more struggling to stretch hoses.

This turbo gives all of the benefits of a high performance turbo while keeping a very straightforward installation and a factory profile.

This upgrade turbo includes a free drilling/tapping for an EGT bung, and all hardware needed for a standard installation!
