    1. Worked Like A Charm

Wow, it worked!! That pulley was on TIGHT but it came off-- without breaking anything! Without taking anything else off! Without a torch or impact tool!

Tips: Make sure you use correct bit, on mine the correct splined bit was a very snug fit, and required gentle tapping to seat fully. You need a 12mm socket and 17mm box end wrench. The pulley thread is regular (right-handed) so you unscrew the outer part of the tool (the hollow splined part) as you hold the central bit with the 12mm. Of course, with a ratchet on the center you can hold the outer part fixed and turn the ratchet clockwise. (you are really turning the alternator shaft)

    2. Another great Metalnerd Tool!

Tool works exactly as expected. Squirt some penetrating oil in the opening, insert the proper bit for your alternator shaft, add a length of cheater pipe to your tools for leverage on the twisting action, and Bingo the pulley with 11 years and 198k miles came right off the alternator of my MkIV while still mounted in the car. Installation was a breeze as well. I'll keep this great tool around for when my MkV needs its alternator pulley replaced.

This is the third Metalnerd tool I own, each of them does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it well.
