Colt Cams Stage 2 Billet Camshaft — BEW PD TDI (2004–2006 Golf · Jetta · Jetta Wagon · New Beetle)
If you own a BEW, you already know — or are about to learn — that the factory PD camshaft is one of these engines' weak points. The OEM cam's shallow surface hardening and aggressive lobe ramp lead to premature wear, and once it goes, it takes your lifters with it. Most of our customers don't come looking for a performance cam — they find us because they need one. This is the cam that ends that problem for good.
Colt Stage 2 cams are fully machined new from forged steel billet — not chill-cast, and never a regrind of a worn factory cam. That's the difference between a part that's hard "skin deep" and one that's tougher all the way through:
For a stock engine, that means peace of mind — the last camshaft you'll ever buy. For a build, the Stage 2 profile adds lift and duration over the factory grind to help the engine breathe and make more power alongside a tune, nozzles, and turbo. (One customer's car running this cam dynos over 200 whp — but it improves an otherwise stock car too.)
5-year / unlimited-mile warranty — effectively lifetime for most owners — when purchased with one of our install kits. Every Colt cam also ships with the proper ZDDP break-in additive, which most modern oils no longer contain in sufficient quantity for flat-tappet break-in.
